Overall I think it is FABULOUS! My only criticism is there are not enough listings for Kyoto and Nara.

What I think is most wonderful:

(1) compact and concise listing. Food photo and location map great
(2) Icons are a wonderful tool. I especially like the non-smoke and vegetarian notations as many Californians hate smokers and everyone seems to be a vegetarian
(3) Directions to each location
(4) central map with restaurant numbers for easy reference. A tourist can carry the guide and if he/she is hungry has a reference for what is close.
(5) The added feature of Japanese name/address is brilliant. So often English guides are only in English and you can't show them to a taxi driver and have them understand where you want to go. With your guide a tourist need only point to the restaurant.
(6) All of the transportation maps for each city and the brief historical page are added features.

Re: MeSay Restauran&t Bar Guide

Ms. Keiko Garrison of the Los Angeles Tourism Representative of the City of Tokyo gave us a copy of the above Restaurant & Bar Guide of Japanlast year.

We find the guide very informative end useful that we are enclosing copy to each of our clients visiting Japan.Japan has a perception of being an expensive destination and in particular food and drink. The guide is able to recommend the different type of restaurant to suit everyone's budget. With the help of the guide, our clients not only able to know about the customs, the different kind of Japanese dishes, even how to ask for the "call of nature" is explained.

Our clients are very impressed with the details provided for each recommended rstaurants : location, cost, hours, map, how to get there, seating.....etc. They are also happy to see some western restauranats are included.

We highly recommened the Mesay Restaurant & Bar Guide and we hope we will continue to obtain the copies for our visitors to Japan.

日本に行って、残念だったことは、リーズナブルな日本食レストランを見つけることができなかったことです。インターネットのレストラン情報では、料金の高いお店ばかり。きっと日本語サイトだったら、沢山のレストラン情報が載っているのだろうけど、日本語がわからないので、検索できません。

寿司や天ぷらを食べるのを楽しみにしていたのに、泊まっていたホテルの近くにはなかった。地下鉄やバスが複雑なので、乗り換えは嫌だけれど、同じ沿線でレストランを探すことが出来たら、便利だろうな。

祖母が日本人なので日本語は少し話せますが、読めません。去年初めておばあちゃんの国・ニッポンへ行きました。アメリカ人の友だちと一緒に「居酒屋」へ行きたかったのですが、お店が何処にあるか分からず、残念でした。こんな本ができるならいいな。お店には英語のメニューもあると助かります、写真入りだとなお分かりやすいです。

昨日、ゲイシャの映画を観てきました（注：Memoirs of a Geishaのこと）。映画は日本とは違うのはわかってるけど、ぜひ今度のバケーションにはもう一度日本に行きたい！それにボクはSushiが大好き！最近、日本のSakeも好き。TokyoにはCoolなレストランも多いと聞きます。ぜひいろんな店を食べ歩きたいですね♪　それまでに、本つくってね！
